Accessibility

Yes, the Backyard Theatre is wheelchair accessible. We have two dedicated wheelchair spaces on the front row, each with an adjacent companion seat so that friends or carers can sit alongside to provide assistance.

Please Note: For safety reasons, we ask that audience members using mobility scooters leave them outside the theatre and transfer to our wheelchairs for the duration of the performance.

IMPORTANT NOTE

At the BYT our aim is to be inclusive of our customers who have mobility issues. Therefore It is imperative that if the COMPANION SEATS  and WHEELCHAIR SEATS are the last seats available for a show  these are only booked by a companion accompanying/escorting a friend with mobility issues who requires the accessible seat space. If these remain unbooked It is our policy to release these to the public, at the earliest two weeks before the show- this will be at our discretion. Therefore kindly avoid booking these and contact the BYT to put your name on the waiting list in the event these are released you will be contacted on a first on the request list basis.

If you have any questions about accessibility or would like to discuss your specific requirements, please contact us when booking your tickets.

Yes, we have a hearing loop system installed in the theatre, which is switched on at the start of every performance. If you use a hearing aid with a T-coil (telecoil) setting, simply switch to the 'T' position to benefit from enhanced sound clarity.

If you have any questions about our hearing loop system or require further assistance, please let us know when booking your tickets.

Due to the compact size of our theatre, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate service animals during performances. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you have specific accessibility needs or would like to discuss alternative arrangements, please contact us when booking your tickets, and we'll do our best to assist you.
