THE HOMING STONE: ARTHUR RANSOME’S JOURNEY HOME

Arthur Ransome is well known as the author of the ‘Swallows and Amazons’ books. What is less well known is that as a young man he went to Russia to collect folk-tales and was swept into the maelstrom of the Russian Revolution. During the six years he lived in Moscow he became the only British journalist trusted by the Bolsheviks.

Created by Bonnet Dog, ‘A Knight of Terror’ is an hilarious Victorian gothic ghost story of a witless young man encountering a cast of eerie locals. It is a show that mixes the uncanny tales of M. R. James, with the silliness of classic British humour. Join us for this 'ripping yarn' that promises curses, skulls, shin-kicking. chilling spooks along with lots of laughs.

Flagship’ is the latest treasure from Watchet's very own comedy crew-The Steaming Coasters-to be 'shipped' into The Backyard Theatre. Having already performed three shows in Watchet this latest show includes the most popular of the skits cherry-picked from all three, bringing them to the stage for one final outing of manic mayhem.

Two people, no longer in the first flush of youth, meet at a tango retreat in Buenos Aires. A spark is ignited, passions smoulder, this was meant to be. Tied to their families in Chile and Devon, they navigate the frustrations of a long-distance relationship sustained by tango sessions in Argentina - that include unexpected flights of the imagination into the realm of local myth. Then one of them weighs the ecological consequences.
A multi story mix of music, song, tango and stories ancient and modern.
